Could Anyone offer some Advice?

T asked:

Alright, so throughout my life I’ve always tended to play down my accomplishments, and I always get embarassed when people talk about the things I’ve done, even if they are things I should be proud of.

Example: I won States for my division in golf last year, but I never liked to bring it up. I was to worried about people ragging on what I love to do because people can be stupid. I would rather highlight the people who got second and third than talk about what I did.

So what can I do, I mean to feel more confident about myself. I see people running there mouths all the time about nothing but you can tell that they are proud of themselves even though they didn’t really do anything. I want to take pride in my interests and accomplishments. Any tips on how to do this?

This is the first step. You want to take pride in what you do. Try to recognize your good qualities. Are you a kind person? Do you care about others? Are you helpful? Are you sincere? Write down these qualities so you will be able to see them in black and white. Tell yourself, “I’m a good person.” Think about the things you do for others. I have been saying that to myself and sometimes my friend. This really helps. I hope you will be feeling better about yourself.
