I have a set of La Jolla clubs. I was wondering if they are good clubs compared to King Cobras, or Wilsons. If you have any other suggestions, please post all that you know about the club. LA JOLLA. Thank you for all that you post and God bless!

First off Wilsons are crappy, but La Jollas are ok especially if your a beginer or a high handicaper. However, they do not match the quality of King Cobra’s. The way to tell is to research if any men or women use these club that are professionals. Wilson and La Jolla is a no, but Cobra is a yes. Cobras are the best of those three brands.

I have spent a lot of time (35 years) around the game, and I have never heard of La Jolla clubs, which is a pretty good indication that they are likely cheaper knock-offs. Cobras and Wilsons are more known, but nearly all manufacturers have better and lesser clubs.
By visiting a nearby golf shop, you will get a greater sense of what is out there. You might also pick up a golf magazine, like Golf or Golf Digest, and take a look at the advertisers. You’ll get a sense of the more known club brands (TaylorMade, Titleist, Callaways, PING) and what they offer.
As in most things, you get what you pay for, but until you know you are serious about the game, you don’t need to overspend–you’ll notice little difference between “real” clubs and imitations until your swing is honed.

Nick how can you say Wilsons are crappy, mate they just won the British Open, the biggest tournament in the world.

La Jolla are very good clubs, the reason most men have never heard of them is because they specifically cater to juniors and women. They also make men’s clubs, but only hybrids and fairway woods are mass produced. Their drivers are among the best unadvertised clubs I have ever used. I have a friend who has one, they are by custom order only direct from the manufacturer. It is easily comparable to current drivers on the market today and at a manufacturer’s direct price. You can occasionally find the la jolla driver heads on eBay for ridiculously cheap prices.
I’m not trying to say that one company’s clubs are better than the others, all 3 companies you listed make very good clubs, I’m just trying to shed some light on the La Jolla company.
