Are my golf clubs good for a beginner?

Joe asked:

- Big Bertha Diablo Driver
- Big Bertha fairway wood
- Tommy Armour 845 iron set (3-pw) Diablo
- Odyssey SRT 2-Ball Putter
- Callaway X series stand bag

any suggestions/improvements? or am I good?
disregard diablo after the irons, its a typo
the irons were my dads, he used them, didn’t like them, gave them to me, so basically new clubs for free

  1. Golf stores online

those are fine i think you spent a little bit too much but there fine

The set you describe is more than adequate for a beginner. Now all you have to do is develop the proper swing plane, swing speed and golf swing to manipulate those clubs. I would suggest taking a couple of basic golf lessons to improve what you have or correct some faults, if any. Then do a lot of practicing of the short game and putting along with frequent playing. The 845s Tommy Armour are great irons.

  3. Golf clubs sales

What is more important is if these clubs are a fit for you. These are all very good clubs for the average golfer. However, as a beginner, there are a couple things you need to keep in mind:

    1. Club length — Make sure these clubs fit you. If your dad got them for his build and you are around the same size as he is, this shouldn’t be a problem. If he’s 6 ft 4 though and you’re 5′10″, there might be some issues.

    2. Degree of loft on the driver — As a beginner, you benefit from more loft because you’re going to have a hard enough time getting your drives to go where they want! If it’s under 10 degrees, you might want to consider getting one that is at least 10.5 degrees. You’ll find the degree on the crown of your driver.

    3. Try getting a hybrid club — In general, people aren’t as good with their 3 or 4 irons as they are with the other clubs. If you want some extra help, consider getting a 3 or 4 hybrid club. These are definitely a LOT easier to hit and give you extra distance to boot!

In any case, you’ve got generally very good clubs, so good luck on your golfing endeavors!
