It’s not the club that makes the game..it’s the player behind the club.

Your results will be:
99% practice and mentally being “in the zone”
1% equipment
But if the brand name helps you be “in the zone”, go for it.

Clubs make a difference and when properly fitted it makes a major difference. All you have to do is find out when one of your local golf course is going to have a demo day. Go try out as many clubs as you can. These days you should hit the club or one like it before you buy it. There are some clones that are OK or Good clubs. The problem is having enough information to separate the good from the bad. Hit the clubs and if you hit them good buy them. I would suggest hitting some other types also just so you know how the set you purchased matches up. There are a lot of golf clubs that prevent people from hitting good shots. I would also suggest checking the loft and lie angle of the clubs. Hitting the clubs is the best thing. There are some bad clubs from major manufactures also, so you can’t always trust the brand. When being fit for clubs, I suggest twice just to make sure.

Why not. For the price, have a go and see.

I have bought several sets of clones off the internet and have had good succsess with them. I would recomend clones to anyone on a tight budget.
Online Golf Tips
While I’ve never played “clones,” I have played and recommend the “Snake Eyes” line from Golfsmith and the “Maltby” line from Golfworks. Both of these companies design and manufacture their own golf clubs and golf club making components. They have their own designs and they also do a pretty good job of utilizing the latest in golf club design, trends and manufacturing methods.
There are also a number of other companies that specialize in “custom” equipment. Some of the companies make an outright attempt to re-create (“clone”) the latest clubs from other major name brands. And others operate similarly to the two companies mentioned above.
Prior to buying any clubs, I do recommend that you get fitted by a competnent professional for the best results .
