Personally, I like Pings myself, but at that level, it becomes a personal choice. I know some who prefer Calloways, but again it depends on your handicap, and how often you play.

Since new brand name irons can run into $100’s of dollars ( Ping, Callaway, Taylor Made etc) I would go to a pro shop and try different iron sets. Even within the same brands they have different models such as blde irons, cavity back etc. It can be a big investment and I would strongly recommend hitting before buying.

i’d say it depends on how good of a golfer you are or how much you’re willing to spend. i’m a hack, have been playing for about 18 years or so… last year i just bought a new set for the first time since 1990… got a set of tommy armour 845’s real cheap. great clubs for the price. i have also tried out my father in laws callaways, which are pretty nice. personally, i’m saving to buy a set of ping’s as soon as i can. but i am satisfied with my 845’s

Today’s market is all about fitting. Don’t go buy a set off the rack. The fitting process works. Go to the manufactures websites and find out when the next demo day will be in your area. I have several of them on my blog roll. Hit as many clubs as you can and have someone fit you several times. Even if you buy copies you can use the information form the club fitting to help you get the right set. I also have a link that will help you find the value of clubs to help with price. On the left side of my blog you will see about 10 links to help you out

Ideally it would be best to have your clubs fitted. At a minimum you should go to a golf shop like Roger Dunn’s, Golfsmith, etc… where they have trained personnel and swing analysis equipment to get you fitted. These places do it as a value-added service so it doesn’t cost you anything. Also, make sure you tell them what your budget is. The ultimate choice would be to go to an independent club fitter, which you can find info on the net. I can’t stress enough how much you’ll benefit from clubs that are fitted to your swing. I had my first set of clubs fitted 5 years ago and within a month of using them I dropped from a 5 to a 3 handicap, which is a lot for a low-handicapper in a months time.

dude ask a pro.ME. well it all depends on ur wallet for this one. oh and ur skill level. if u want easy to hit clubs go for the new big bertha irons from callaway. if say low teen handicap the cg4 clevelands are good and if 5 or less then u want total custom fit so get the right shafts as that the most important thing
