What is the best way to remove the residue left on a golf club by stickers?

I just bought a Callaway Hyper X driver and when i took it out of the box it had stickers (price, etc.) on the face, sole and shaft. When I took them off they left a sticky residue and grass is sticking to it. How can I safely get it off without damaging my golf club?
Does nail polish remover work? Is it safe to use on the sole where it is stainless steel?

Take a spounge and water, dip the spounge in the water and squeeze it over the sticker glue and gently rub it away while still squeezing the water out of the spounge.

If a sponge with water doesn’t work, I would try a gentle soap and if that sticker residue is that darn stubborn I would recommend Goo Gone. It’s this cleaning agent that’s a thick syrupy cleaner that’s gentle on most things, but it sure can take anything like that off. Just like the website says…

rubbing alcohol work great and won’t damage finish. also fatastic & windex.

ok get the sticky residue wet with some water, just put some on your finger and rub the stuff with water, then once it is wet take your fingernail and try to scratch off as much as possible. then take a wash rag and just keep rubbing it until it comes off

I bet the nswer is sitting in your pantry…..PEANUT BUTTER! the oils in peanut butter break down the sticky residue! Another big thing is that it will not mess up the paint on top of te driver head, and we all know how much a Callaway X driver is! Leave it on for a few minutes, then wipe away!

Common problem but a very simple solution. Any petroleum based medium will work. The glue form the stickers are made from petroleum and they react very nicely from like mediums. Oil will do the trick.

WD-40 works great to remove sticky residue from labels. Spray it on a cloth, not the club, and wipe away the residue. It works like magic. Be careful not to get the WD-40 on the grip or clubface or they will become very slippery because WD-40 is a silicone based lubricant.

All good answers above. I like Dante23’s the best because that’s what I did. WD40 works great. Spreay it on a cloth, not on the club and keep it away from your grips.
