Online Golf Tips
Whatever is on “reg-tag” sale at Big-5 (or other big-chain sporting-goods store in your area). Don’t spend over $100. If he *really* gets into it, then you 2 can consider upgrading the clubs.

Don’t spend to much for the set because Golf is a very disturbing game and if he ends up hating it then you’ll probably be wasting your money. But as for as brands Knight, Adams, Hippo, and Ram usually have good beginner sets. But you could go on ebay and find a cheap used or new set that is made by a major company like titleist, nike, callaway, cleveland, or taylormade.

Go to Edwin Watts Golf online and look at the preowned clubs. I have bought several clubs and 1 set of clubs from them . Very reasonable prices and the clubs come in very good condition. I bought a Taylor Made set (very good) and A Cleveland Launcher Driver all for about $325. that is a good deal. I also got an Odyssey putter that is retail $200 for about $110. Very good deals. Good Luck

Go to a golf specialty store, or a sports store like Scheel’s All Sports…They will probably set you up with a regular set, but not the best, expensive one…you should pay between 100-200 dollars.

check out the sunday adds. depending on where you live, Dicks Sporting Goods or Sports Authority will have full sets, which usually consist of 12 clubs and a bag for around $100-150.
You really dont need to spend that much for starter clubs, since it wont make a difference since your husband’s skill level will still be a beginner. if he gets into it, he can always upgrade his clubs.
Golf clubs sales
whatever is on sale…you should be able to find a complete set..irons putter drivers and bag for around 325 or so…i recommend the ‘golden bears’ from arnold palmer…its a set that both my fiancee and my best friend started off with and they held up longer than my or other friends of mine’s starter sets…
if your husband is young and strong you should buy regular flex irons made with steel shafts…if he is older or generally a smaller guy you might get him the graphite shafts (in irons, drivers are always graphite)
Golf stores online
AMF sells complete, good quality sets, bag, putter- everything.

I bought my first set three years ago at Target for $80 and it came with driver, 3wood, 5wood, irons, wedge and a putter. They work quite well. The brand name is Cougar Cat
